Say your goodbyes and kiss them,
Let your gaze linger and miss them.
You don't know when would be the last,
Today? Tomorrow? Or it's already a past.
Won't it be so beautiful if we knew,
Of the day we leave the mortal hue.
Would the goodbyes be any different?
Or would they appreciate a lil more of you?
They would write books about you,
Songs of your life, sung far and wide.
Some would even worship and vow you,
Showering with honor and respect.
Oh but remember the silence they had,
When you were strong and them weak.
You became a legend of old,
While they reaped the benefits of it all.
You gotta be bold, and you gotta lead,
For the weak know not the goals.
You carve out a way to the peak,
And they rush to grab your feet.
Such a pathetic endeavor it is,
Is the peak even worth climbing?
The clouds are merely water,
Yet you strive to reach for it.
You argue, bicker and you fight,
Yet blame yourself before the night.
Why does resentment has to occur,
When it can be sorted by a smile?
Why do we wait for the last goodbye?
Letting the unsaid words rot inside.
Just to be haunted by the shadow of regret,
And hoping to see the smile one last time.
